This IDC study presents a forecast for the worldwide wearable computing device market for 2024–2028.
"The worldwide wearables market is on track for slow but steady growth in the years ahead as it slowly reaches maturity," says Ramon T. Llamas, research director for IDC's Wearables team. "The market's two most popular products — earwear and smartwatches — are set for single-digit growth in the years ahead. Meanwhile, emerging products like glasses and rings — both building from small volumes in 2023 and 2024 — are set to grow at much faster rates. These will give consumers more choice and experiences to look forward to."
