Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight examines whether enterprises will, despite economic uncertainty, increase spending on cloud connectivity services.

In total, about 26% of the respondents indicated plans to increase less than 5% in spending on connectivity services compared with the original 2023 budget. About 27% of the respondents indicated that they did not see any impact on the budget compared with the original spending.

About 15.4% of the respondents reported a 5% decrease in spending on connectivity services compared with the original budget.

Organizations have adopted cloud due to its increased availability, performance, and flexibility at a fraction of legacy IT costs.

Cloud connectivity offers multiple benefits including data security, flexibility, and mobility and enables organizations to store data remotely.

Dedicated cloud connectivity services can improve security, reliability, and performance.

Despite a continued skills gap and growing macroeconomic uncertainty, more organizations will review an increase in their cloud computing costs and increase cloud cost optimization and drive additional value from cloud infrastructure.
