Abstract
This IDC study presents forecasts of spending (customer expenditures) for the application management (AM) services market for 2023–2027. The research contained in this forecast includes advice to AM service providers, an analysis of key market and industry trends by importing market, key market drivers and inhibitors, significant market developments, and highlights of key changes from the prior forecast. This study also updates the previous forecast published in Worldwide Application Management Services Forecast, 2022–2026 (IDC #US49031122, May 2022).
Pete Marston, research director of Worldwide Intelligent Application Services at IDC, explains, "Growth for application management services remained robust in 2022 at a worldwide level. However, macro regions were split in growth due to currency fluctuations and varied economic challenges. IDC expects that despite the mixed performance across regions, application management services markets will rebound into positive territory across all regions throughout the forecast period as buyer demands seem to signal continued reliance on third parties for application management support. IDC believes that service provider investments in automation and analytics will continue to fuel AM services growth, especially as buyers seek to streamline application portfolio optimization, and modernize and migrate larger portions of their application portfolios to cloud."
