Abstract
This IDC TechBrief examines network edge security as a service (NESaaS) for U.S. federal agencies. As agencies adopt zero trust technologies, they should consider NESaaS solutions to consolidate and unify security solutions when aiming to enforce least privilege access. This, in effect, will strengthen their protection, enhance end-user experience, and provide a functional road map to SASE adoption.
"Zero trust lays the groundwork for agencies to further security modernization with the fundamental principle of least privilege access," says Aaron Walker, research manager, Government Trust and Resiliency Strategies. "Agencies should be considering NESaaS adoption not only to achieve zero trust adoption but also to bolster protection, improve end-user experience, and consolidate cybersecurity solutions."
