Abstract
This IDC study presents a five-year forecast for the worldwide IDC Global DataSphere. The worldwide IDC Global DataSphere is a measure of how much data is created, captured, replicated, and consumed each year. It is forecast by several segments including consumer/enterprise, region, data type, location (core, edge, endpoint), and cloud/noncloud.
"IDC's Global DataSphere is universally referenced as the de facto source for the volume of data generated each year," according to John Rydning, research vice president, IDC's Global DataSphere. "Yet the Global DataSphere represents much more than the volume of data generated. It also reveals how the DataSphere is 3D: distributed, diverse, and dynamic."
