Abstract
This IDC study presents the five-year forecast for the U.S. business use of smartphone shipments by operating system and user type (consumer, individual liable, and corporate liable). It is part of IDC's continuing research with respect to mobile devices. Findings in this document are based on information gathered from primary and secondary sources during the past six months.
"Corporate-liable device shipments are expected to see steady growth over the forecast period despite a reduced priority on new hardware spending by enterprise IT," said Bryan Bassett, research manager, IDC's Enterprise Mobility: Workspace and Deployment Strategies Program. "Increased corporate-liable device shipments are representative of the growing dependency on mobility in the enterprise and are expected to see a five-year CAGR of 8% through 2027."
