Abstract
This IDC Survey provides key findings from IDC's 2024 Future Enterprise Resiliency and Spending (FERS) Survey, Wave 1, which focuses on issues related to GenAI adoption and its implications on IT investment, governance, and partnering decisions. It is the first of four (quarterly) GenAI-centric FERS Surveys for 2024 that will investigate the implications of GenAI across regions, technologies, and industries. This survey of 881 respondents in North America, Asia/Pacific, and Western Europe was conducted in January 2024 while IT leaders were starting to execute on initial GenAI plans and developing long-term road maps. Key findings cover the following topics:
- IT budgets for GenAI
- Cloud providers' position as a strategic GenAI technology partner
- Infrastructure deployment challenges introduced by GenAI
