Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight presents the growing adoption of wireless as the primary access connectivity method for corporate WAN solutions. It contains data from IDC's June 2021Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN) Survey based on the response from 1,224 enterprises worldwide.

"Wireless connectivity, such as fixed wireless access and LTE/5G wireless WAN (WWAN), is emerging as the best primary access option for various deployment scenarios, applications, and business operations. In the next two years, wireless will become the dominant primary access connectivity method for corporate WAN. Besides performance benefits, the ease of setting up a cellular connection to a new branch location is becoming a key factor in selecting wireless connectivity for SD-WAN solution." — Ajeet Das, research director, Telecom Infrastructure at IDC
