Abstract

This IDC Market Note summarizes the slate of AAA games that should debut between September and December of this year and whether E3 still serves a purpose in a U.S. gaming industry context.

"We suspect team Xbox will have a relatively happy holiday season, given the wide array of new AAA games launching on Xbox and Windows PCs between September and December 2023. Nintendo's slate, meanwhile, is looking thin as it shifts gears to developing launch title games for what we expect will be next-gen hardware coming next holiday season. We also believe the sun has set on E3." — Lewis Ward, director of Gaming, Esports, and VR/AR at IDC
