This IDC study provides a detailed description of IDC's Worldwide Black Book taxonomy for total ICT spending including new 3rd Platform technologies, which IDC refers to as "innovation accelerators." It should be used as a companion piece for IDC's Worldwide Black Book: 3rd Platform Edition. Technology suppliers may utilize this structure to create an overview of the total ICT industry and to understand where their own products and services are captured within IDC's view of the total market opportunity.
