Abstract

This IDC Survey looks at the state of zero trust initiatives across multiple factors. Since the premise of zero trust is generally regarded as sound, advancement of zero trust efforts would seem assured. Increased data security, better vulnerability management, and improved identity and access management are widespread objectives for many enterprises. But there are some elements of reluctance around zero trust that creates some hesitancy and may impact satisfaction rates around these zero trust security efforts. This IDC Survey examines some of these elements and what zero trust services will be important going forward.

The data comes from the results of IDC's Worldwide Security Services Primary Research 2022–2023 Survey, fielded in January and February 2023. All respondents (i.e., 1,214 organizations across 15 countries) were either the primary decision maker or part of a team that makes the decisions of security services investment.
