This IDC Perspective examines how the storms of disruption are impacting digital business in 2023. The storms of disruption are building for nearly every business, and they don't seem to be slowing down in 2023. Companies will be tasked with continuing to mature digitally while dealing with potential budget restraints, supply chain challenges, and labor shortages stemming from external disruptors.

"Organizations that are already heavily digital — those that have seen the value of digital investment — are more likely to maintain or even raise technology spending in the midst of disruption. Those companies have discovered that experiences matter when supply chains are tight and consumers have changing expectations or spending habits. These experiences extend not only to customers but to partners and employees as well," says Craig Powers, research director for Worldwide Digital Business Strategies at IDC.
