Worldwide Supply Chain Logistics and Transportation Management Applications Software Forecast, 2022-2026
Abstract
This IDC study discusses the forecast for the worldwide supply chain logistics and transportation management applications software market. Off a 2021 rebound, this market is expected to see good growth through 2026 as organizations look to better optimize their supply chain operations in the short term while ensuring they are resilient to market disruptions in the longer term. Clearly, the specter of recession hangs over these markets. As of now, IDC does not see signals to temper the forecast, but that may change as we move materially into 2023. Indeed, IDC surveys suggest that while supply chain executives are mindful of operational efficiency in the short term, they recognize the importance of the supply chain as an enabler of new business models. Growth in the supply chain planning applications market will be driven by both short-term focus and long-term focus.
"In today's disruptive environment, supply chain logistics and transportation is critical for businesses to meet their performance targets. Without the use of modern logistics tools, supply chains simply cannot compete at the levels necessary for competitive differentiation. Supply chain logistics and transportation investments are both a competitive necessity and key to driving a differentiating edge over peers," says Travis Eide, research director, Worldwide Supply Chain Transportation and Global Trade at IDC.
