Abstract


This IDC Survey Spotlight demonstrates the gaps between consumer demand for a wide swath of omni-channel fulfillment offerings and retailer investment prioritization in the very same offerings, as well as just how important it is to close those gaps. Why? Because quite an extraordinary number of consumers report that they will go elsewhere when the fulfillment offerings they want are not available.

The acceleration of omni-channel shopping has opened new opportunities to create engaging shopping and fulfillment experiences for consumers. What we've seen at IDC is that these experiences have become part of what customers are seeking when they shop. You could think of this as fulfillment as a product (FaaP).
