This IDC study provides a brief overview of the performance of the worldwide external enterprise storage systems market in 2022.
"Demand for storage systems remained strong in 2022 as enterprises continued to address data growth, improve business resilience, and modernize their infrastructure, often as part of digital transformation efforts involving data-intensive analytics and artificial intelligence workloads," said Carol Sliwa, research director, Infrastructure Systems, Platforms and Technologies Group, IDC. "Key areas of investment and growth include all-flash arrays, hyperconverged infrastructure, and software-defined scale-out file and object storage, where vendors have ample opportunity to differentiate to meet customers' evolving needs."
