Abstract


This IDC Survey provides an overview of the worldwide results from IDC's 2022 Worldwide Managed Services Survey of enterprises involving their use of managed services across applications (e.g., ERP, SCM, CRM) and datacenter IT infrastructure (compute, storage, network) environments. This document offers insight into enterprise requirements for migrating and modernizing IT to the cloud as part of utilizing managed cloud services. In particular, it highlights key professional services, skills, and knowledge organizations expect managed service providers (SPs) to incorporate with managed cloud services as well as priorities of the types of environments for which firms want to use with edge computing when delivered as part of managed cloud services including the preferred private cloud solution for edge.
