Abstract

This IDC MarketScape presents a vendor assessment for the managed security services (MSS) market in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region based on the IDC MarketScape model. IDC identified over 54 MSS providers in the region and, after an initial outreach process, selected 16 security services providers with operations and customers in the region. These providers were evaluated using the IDC MarketScape model, and the process included interviews with the providers themselves and one or more of each provider's customers. Providers were measured in terms of their current capabilities and future strategies for delivering services to customers in the GCC region.

"The security services market in the Gulf Cooperation Council region is very diverse and competitive. It includes pure-play managed security services providers, telecommunications providers, global systems integrators, and boutique consulting firms. Each of these vendors has unique capabilities to meet the specific, unique needs of organizations in the region. The most prominent differentiators in the regional managed security services market include security talent and expertise, technology leadership, and the availability of advanced security services (such as managed detection and response)." — Shilpi Handa, associate research director, cybersecurity, IDC MEA
