Abstract
In this document, IDC shares an essential vision for future business models that will impact both the IT industry and other markets. The consumer experience is undergoing profound changes, and at the level of business purchases of technology, decision-making no longer resides only in the IT areas. Other non-technical decision-makers have emerged in response to digital transformation, and while they are becoming highly technical, their focus is on business results and ROI.
There is no universal digital transformation plan; thus, the path to the evolution of each company will be different. Despite this, digital transformation in Latin America is determined by common attributes at a global level, which will orient the current transformation processes and support future business models. Specifically, IDC believes that the digitally transformed distribution of products and services should be ecosystem-focused, platform-enabled, and data-driven.
"The digital economy is changing people's work, shopping, and lifestyle. Therefore, technology partners will continue to be critical to businesses. They provide crucial personalized professional services and unique capabilities that help organizations meet critical business needs, such as helping them to cover the skills gap and everything as a service," said Alejandro Florean, Vice President of Consulting and Research for Latin America in IDC.
