Abstract
This IDC Survey examines EMEA retail banks' responses to questions about future business priorities, as well as challenges, tactical initiatives, technological maturity, and business outcomes. The survey included144 retail banks in France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
The objectives of the research were:
- To map the perceived impacts of engaging in an ecosystem related to embedded finance/banking
- To understand the importance and suitability of various distribution channels related to setting up and operating embedded finance
- To rank retail banks' challenges in operating embedded banking
- To map the governance and compliance challenges associated with embedded finance initiatives
The topics examined include understanding the value propositions, monetization opportunities, and potential of embedded finance, as well as the key ingredients of successful, trustful cooperation between retail banks and their ecosystem partners.
