Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight details findings from IDC's Global Sustainability Readiness Survey, which was conducted in August 2023. The research included a total of 718 European organizations. This document compares the findings of two questions in the survey: What technological challenges are organizations facing in their sustainability initiatives? And What they are asking of their suppliers, in the form of sustainability requirements, in request for proposals (RFPs)? The results indicate that, due to shortcomings in the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) tooling and service landscape, it may be a case of “do as I say” rather than “do as I do” when it comes to awarding contracts with ESG components.
