Abstract
This IDC Market Presentation charts the progression of ICT practitioners' readiness to incorporate sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into their business operations.
An established methodological framework is used to assess the status of these practitioners' journeys to becoming sustainable enterprises. The presentation leverages input from 718 European respondents to IDC's Worldwide Sustainability Maturity Survey, complemented by IDC expertise in qualitative and quantitative primary research techniques.
European organizations loosely fall into five readiness stages based on the adoption of key sustainability essentials — namely, the availability of financing, accountability and governance, measurement metrics, and operational practices.
