The new EU directive supporting sustainability and the planned legislation to replace the Voluntary Agreement are expected to boost regional demand for refurbished and remanufactured printing devices. IDC sees this as an opportunity for print OEMs, most of whom are currently only sending old equipment for recycling without benefiting from the current and potential opportunities stemming from a client base that increasingly demands used equipment due to costs and the need for green credentials.
