Abstract
This IDC Survey sheds light on EMEA organizations' plans and attitudes on adopting generative AI (GenAI). Financial services and government are leading all industries in their ambitious adoption plans in EMEA. In contrast, the engineering, construction, and real estate sectors began with the lowest adoption level, but adoption is expected to grow steadily in these sectors within two years. The retail sector continues to show consistent rates of investment, with over one in five organizations already adopting GenAI.
By 2024, a third of EMEA organizations are projected to invest in GenAI. EMEA organizations are focusing their GenAI projects on strategic priorities and innovation, applied across various domains such as sales, marketing, citizen services, clinical support, and process automation. These initiatives aim to automate tasks, optimize processes, improve experiences, and drive innovation across sectors.
