Abstract
This IDC Survey examines the results of IDC's EMEA CISO Survey. It analyzes how the role of the CISO is maturing and looks at what technology providers can do to meet growing expectations and deliver business value for security leaders
IDC research shows the EMEA CISO role is becoming more strategic, and their stakeholders are diverse and include executives and technology providers. CISO influence is also expanding, with the majority involved early in new business initiatives.
"Security is now highly visible to key decision makers, with a majority of CISOs presenting to the board or executive management regularly. This requires a CISO who can operate strategically, and who is comfortable working across the three dimensions of security, digital and — crucially — business," said Dave Clemente, research director, IDC Europe.
