Abstract
This IDC Market Note discusses the new regulation being prepared by the European Commission for imaging and printing manufacturers. It also covers the possible impact of this regulation and how OEMs are likely to react. The European Commission has rejected the revised voluntary agreement on imaging and printing products, choosing instead to introduce a new regulation. This means manufacturers that want to ship their products to the European Union will have to meet certain requirements and specifications for both imaging and printing hardware and ink and toner supplies.
