Abstract
This IDC Market Presentation assesses European organizations' willingness to change their ERP/finance systems, stay with their current vendors, or go for an alternative provider. It highlights the results of an IDC survey completed in January 2023 among 670 respondents in 10 European countries. The survey classifies European organizations into one of four segments:
- "Keep vendor, keep ERP," which means extending the life of current (often legacy) ERP systems
- "Keep vendor, new ERP," which means migration to the next-gen ERP system of a current provider (e.g., from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA)
- "New vendor, keep ERP," which means coexistence of several vendors in ERP space
- "New vendor, new ERP," which means complete ERP reimagination
This study provides demographics of companies that are more in favor of each scenario and presents preferred deployment models for each segment. It also highlights opportunities for various market participants and provides essential guidance on how to navigate each segment.
