Abstract

This IDC Survey examines the status of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions among organizations of all sizes in Canada at the end of 2023. It provides insights to the IoT vendor ecosystem to better understand the challenges and opportunities for vendor improvement by industry and size, enabling more precise marketing, communications, sales, and service.

High-level findings include:

  • IoT solution deployments fail and are removed from organization use far more often than commonly expected — 21% of respondents report having removed at least one IoT deployment from use.
  • Security concerns remain the number 1 challenge to IoT deployments in Canada.
  • Security and privacy are key areas for IoT vendors to improve going forward.

This data is important for marketing, communications, sales, and partnering executives seeking to better understand the rapidly evolving IoT landscape in Canada.
