Abstract

This IDC Presentation offers insights into the challenges encountered by organizations in Asia/Pacific as they strive for cyber-resiliency. It also sheds light on the recommended adoption of a comprehensive approach by businesses in the region to safeguard against ransomware. Asia/Pacific enterprises now operate in a landscape of accelerated digital transformation (DX), IT modernization, hyperconnectivity, hybrid cloud environments, and edge computing. In the era of digital business, to stay resilient and profitable against disruptions, relying only on rudimentary solutions is not sufficient. There is a need to evolve and embrace solutions aided by AI/ML capabilities that can provide end-to-end and holistic threat intelligence across network endpoints and nodes, implement the right tools to detect and contain threats, and ultimately, have a robust incident response plan in place to strengthen cyber-resilience from a technological, organizational, and human resource front without excessively straining the organization's finances.

But amid chaos, there is also opportunity. Ransomware attacks have shifted from a question of "if" to "when." Furthermore, these attacks have evolved into intricate threats, resulting in extended periods of system downtime, and causing billions in global damage. This IDC Presentation explores how enterprises can develop comprehensive strategies that encompass both prevention and recovery, with the latter serving as the ultimate defense.
