Abstract

Several manufacturing organizations in Asia/Pacific have been on a recovery path in 2021 and were able to record appreciable revenue growth primarily because of rebound in customer spending and relaxation in lockdown norms. The focus for organizations both from technology investment and process improvement points of view has been around enabling remote collaboration and visibility. Enabling data transparency to address the productivity challenges while identifying new revenue streams and options continues to be a major priority for regional manufacturers.

This IDC FutureScape covers the manufacturing industry's global and regional outlook and the top 10 predictions for 2022, which attempt to explain technologies as viable enablers. Each prediction is presented based on timeline projection, complexity assessment, and organizational impact in Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ). This presentation also includes insights into regional use cases and examples, as well as the regional outlook for manufacturing over the next five years.
