Internship Program
We offer bright and motivated students and opportunity to gain real-world experience while making significant contributions to projects and research in the organization. Each year IDC welcomes undergraduate and graduate students for a 10-week program across all areas of the company such as Research, Consulting, Video Production, IT Services, Marketing/Product Management, and Sales.

What can you expect as an IDC intern?

- A dedicated manager who will guide you in your work and help you to become successful at IDC
- An Intern Ambassador, a buddy in the organization, who will serve as a mentor and resourceAmbassador, aka a“buddy”, who is another friendly face in the organization serving as a mentor and resource
- Scheduled weekly lunches with your peers as well as Lunch and Learns on various topics
- A Wrap up session in which you will present your project and accomplishments
What are we looking for in intern applicants?
- 2nd or 3rd year students, or recent graduates, from a nationally recognized and accredited institution
- Strong academic record
- Desire to get real world experience at a world class technology research and advisory organization
- For research positions, students with strengths in quantitative analysis, analytical thought processes, and writing skills
- The ability to commute to our corporate offices in Framingham, MA or San Mateo, CA
What is the duration of the IDC Internship Program?
Typically, the IDC internship program runs for 10 weeks and interns work 30 hours per week in their assigned business unit.
When is the application period?
The IDC internship application process begins in January/February. Intern roles will be posted through our Careers site so please remember to check regularly. What has been the most unique experience or day you've had at IDC?
Presenting at Directions. It's a lot more than just going up on stage and talking through 15 – 20 slides in 35 minutes. The preparation, rehearsal, and delivery all take on a life of their own the closer we get to Directions, and everything gets magnified 100x when you're on the main stage. I'll say this much though: it's also one of the most thrilling experiences I've had.

I was lucky enough to be partnered with a wonderful mentor, and she continues to be a key part of my daily life at IDC, for guidance and as a sounding board for new ideas, even after 10+ years.
