Thailand Total Industrial Printer Market Posts 20.3% Growth Annual
BANGKOK, August 16th, 2021 - According to the IDC Worldwide Quarterly Industrial Printer Tracker, total industrial printer showed a growth 20.3% in 2021Q2 compare with 2020Q2 during the 3rd wave of Covid-19 but declined -21.9% compared to 2021Q1. 2021Q2 was another challenging time for all industry printer players from April-June 2021. The government was appealing to all sectors to comply with the new Covid-19 restrictions by supporting work-from-home schemes where possible, as the number of daily new infections reached over 10,000. However, some businesses still need to operate and require industrial printer to help them as equipment could keep business running during the pandemic such as healthcare related label, food and beverage label, packaging, map, stickers and customization souvenirs. Businesses in Thailand have leant how to deal with 1st wave of Covid-19 since March last year. “Some businesses are currently continuous running business during the 3rd wave of Covid-19. There are some opportunities that can be explored during this crisis time” says Puwanart Pientanyakij, Market Analyst for IPDS at IDC Thailand.
Desktop label products currently have been tracking only APeJ region. It was one of industrial printer tracker products to fuel overall total industrial printer to grow in 2021Q2 from different kind of businesses especially in the manufacture and healthcare sectors. During the 3rd wave of Covid-19, hospital business requires desktop label to customize label such as blood bag, meal tags, wristband to identify the diversity of patient by using color for different age, gender and condition. However, some hospitals still need printer players to educate how important of using color for daily usage. Monochrome desktop label is still one of major portion under desktop label product. On the other hand, manufacture is one of the few sectors where government allows to operate especially in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) area. Electricity, power plant, and petroleum are businesses that need to run 24/7 in order to keep the population working from home. Those businesses need different kind of chemicals to keep the business running. Even it was a tough time for businesses but it’s a perfect time for chemical manufacturers to adopt GHS guidelines (The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals) to avoid harmful situation in the future.
