Abstract
This IDC Survey examines data collected from IDC's 2024 Consumer Behavioral and Consumer Market Model Survey.
The consumer behavior survey examines consumers' psychological traits, purchasing decisions, engagement with generative AI (GenAI) and the gig economy, and time allocation for entertainment and social media/creators across the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, China, and Brazil. This IDC Survey looks specifically at what influences consumer purchase decisions.
The consumer market model survey examines the most important consumer internet metrics for the most commercially significant 51 countries, all regions, and the world. It covers basic socioeconomic data, internet user numbers, access device numbers, home internet access penetration, time spent online, online activities, buyers of said activities, and business-to-consumer (B2C) ecommerce spending.
"Gen Z's eagerness for new apps and online services that enhance their lives presents vendors with opportunities to capitalize on their enthusiasm and generate revenue from paid and ad-supported business models," said Kelly Brown, research manager, Consumer Market Model at IDC.
