Abstract
This IDC Survey examines the adoption intentions and sentiment of buyers of enterprise intelligence services, with a specific focus on generative AI. It includes data taken from respondents' answers to questions about a range of issues, including the following:
- Where is your organization in the adoption of generative AI capabilities?
- Based on what you have seen or heard so far, which of the following types of generative AI use cases are most important to your business?
Respondents were also asked to rate their level of agreement with a series of statements regarding the impact of generative AI on talent, business growth, business disruption, risk exposure, governance and ethics, and future needs for services providers, among other topics.
The worldwide sample size of 614 respondents included participants from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, China, Australia, and Japan, from a variety of industries and organization sizes ranging from 500 to 10,000+ employees.
The survey includes analysis by generative AI adoption maturity, major industry group (including finance, manufacturing, healthcare, services, retail and wholesale, and transportation, communications, and utilities industries), macroregion (Americas, Asia/Pacific, and EMEA), and job role (IT, line of business, and data, analytics, or AI role).
