Abstract
This IDC Survey reports the results from 200 full-time and part-time developers in the United States, who work for organizations with more than 1,000 employees and who have used or experimented with generative AI. The survey examines the adoption rate, benefits, sentiment, opportunities, and challenges associated with generative AI and the software development life cycle. It also explores the use, both current and projected, of specific forms of generative AI (code, text, image, video generation) and looks at the expected business impact of generative AI, including potential opportunities and challenges.
