Abstract

This IDC Survey examines the 2023 economic outlook and organizational investment in customer data as it pertains to improving the customer experience.

Technology buyers face an array of challenges as they develop plans for their customer experience initiatives in 2023, in particular anticipating potential economic disruptions while still maintaining the shift to digital-first businesses. In January 2023, IDC surveyed IT and business leaders around the world to gain an early insight into how they are navigating disruptions and prioritizing technology investments. IDC's Future Enterprise Resiliency and Spending Survey uncovered trends in how IT and business leaders in enterprises around the world are prioritizing customer data within their organizations, both today and in the future.

This survey of 985 respondents across North America, Latin America, Asia/Pacific, and Western Europe was conducted in January 2023 while IT leaders were finalizing technology budget plans for 2023. They reflect the attitudes and expectations as of that moment in time.
