Abstract


This IDC Survey Spotlight provides insight into the importance of ESG efforts in establishing trust and trustworthiness, using research findings from the IDC Trust Perception Index published in November 2022. The IDC Trust Perception Index is an outcomes-based measurement tool intended to evaluate an organization's perceived trust position relative to the organization's marketplace peers. Survey respondents were selected if they were in fact clients of the company they were evaluating, resulting in a Trust Perception Index score that reflects the perceptions of actual customers. Trust Perception Index scores are based on perceived strengths and weaknesses in each of the four foundations of trust: security, compliance, privacy, and ESG.
