Abstract

This IDC Market Note provides an overview of IBM's Discovery Accelerator quantum hubs and Accelerated Discovery platform. With the launch of IBM's four Discovery Accelerator quantum computing hubs and the introduction of the IBM Accelerated Discovery platform, IBM is taking complexity out of science acceleration by integrating a hybrid classical and quantum computing approach for AI and HPC, delivered as platform as a service (PaaS).

"With the launch of IBM's Accelerated Discovery, IBM is providing an innovative approach that provides scientists with the tools, resources, and framework needed to accelerate scientific discovery," said Heather West, Ph.D., research manager, Quantum Computing at IDC. "IBM will serve this community even better with a timeline as to when significant performance and scaling breakthroughs will be achieved with quantum computing and for which use cases," said Josephine Palencia, research director, High-Performance Computing at IDC.
