This IDC Market Note tracks the growth of OSS companies.
Has the market growth coming out of the pandemic trickled down to companies that are creating some of the key open source software technologies that are often delivered as a service in the major hyperscale clouds? "The short answer is yes and no," said Al Gillen, GVP, Software Development and Open Source, IDC. "Revenue growth was common across the five random open source software companies that we looked at. But profit growth is another challenge altogether."
