Abstract

This IDC Perspective discusses how Doctolib, a European Health unicorn, has used IT to help grow its business. It discusses Doctolib's journey to growth, and how its IT strategy has evolved over that journey. It looks at the role of IT, the usage of IT by the business units, IT roles and responsibilities, and the key IT characteristics of a digital-native business (DNB).

"For digital-native businesses, the use of technology is crucial to their business strategy. B2B- and B2C-oriented DNBs set the pace when it comes to product innovation and development, and they set new standards in customer intimacy and customer experience. Today's economic climate forces DNBs to become even more focused on the efficient use of technology and to leverage technology in their route to profitability. Doctolib's IT journey shows that IT is crucial for growth and plays a vital role to all business units within the organization. The tech-savvy users make it easy to introduce and deploy new functionalities," explained Simone de Bruin, research director, Worldwide Digital-Native Business, Start-Ups, and Scale-Ups, IDC.
