Abstract


This IDC Market Presentation examines the managed business process services maturity model. Business process outsourcing is often associated with cost reduction, buyer-to-provider integration headaches, job loss, and the process of learning new interfaces both technical and people based. The market would not be in the hundreds of billions of dollars if companies did not choose to outsource.

This document shares how service providers are working with buyers to shift from providing outsourcing to being managed services buyers that go beyond basic outsourcing. In these arrangements, the provider's goal is to:

  • Provide buyers with greater insight into their businesses
