Abstract

This IDC Survey presents the results of IDC's Worldwide High-Performance Computing Survey, 2022, with data related to high-performance computing as a service (HPC as a service). The survey was conducted in August 2022, with a sample size of 800 across North America, Asia/Pacific, and Western Europe. The IDC HPC Survey examines deployment scenarios for HPC across several end-user segments such as financial services, IT services and cloud service providers, government, and higher education, among others. The survey presents use cases that organizations run on their HPC environment and also identifies reasons for complexities associated with the movement of data used for HPC between the organization's on-premises/MSP/colocation environments and the public cloud.
