Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight examines whether organizations are including circular economy principles in their procurement strategies. According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, a nonprofit that works with major companies to cut waste, a circular economy is needed to meet close to half of the goals set out in the Paris Agreement. As organizations develop road maps to reach sustainability milestones, the importance of incorporating circular economy principles as part of IT procurement and planning is increasing. Most respondents agree that including recycled and refurbished IT assets into their procurement planning describes their current buying strategy.

In this IDC Survey Spotlight, we share results from recent surveys and provide guidance.
