IDC Survey: How Augmentation of Work Is Changing the Hybrid Landscape
Abstract
This IDC Survey includes data from IDC's Global Future of Work Survey conducted in March and April 2022. The document provides the results and analysis from a global survey of 1,316 senior leaders. Respondents are from a broad range of industries and company sizes. The global poll was designed to understand regional differences around the deployment of automation technologies and how they signaled new trends in the adoption of hybrid work.
This document examines global automation adoption trends across APAC, North America, and EMEA regions as work practices evolve in the evolution of hybrid work models. It also explores the degree to which workers have the resources they need to successfully automate their own work, from access to IT support to easy-to-use tools and reskilling.
"IDC sees growing interest in the adoption of workflow automation as hybrid models evolve to be more commonly adopted and invested in for the long term," said Amy Loomis, research director, Future of Work at IDC. "While the belief that automation will enable employees to focus on higher-value tasks is prevalent, fears that automation will contribute to job loss still persist."
