Abstract
This IDC Survey presentation highlights selected results from IDC's worldwide Future Enterprise Resiliency and Spending Survey, Wave 10, conducted in October/November 2022. IDC asked 824 IT and LOB decision makers in North America, Asia/Pacific, and Europe to indicate how concerns about inflation, recession, skills shortages, and other developments are affecting investment plans in major technology sectors and included additional questions specifically about digital infrastructure strategic priorities as these organizations enter 2023.
Key findings include:
- Identification of key roles driving digital infrastructure spending decisions in 2023
- Worldwide and regional perspectives on which technology areas are most at risk of spending cuts in the face of inflation and recession
- Perspectives on making workload-driven deployment choices taking advantage of emerging fit-for-purpose, high-performance silicon platforms and services
- Priorities around unified multicloud management, predictive cyber-resiliency mechanisms, and interest in sovereign clouds
Globally, over 75% of organizations expect to sustain or even increase digital infrastructure spending across most public cloud, datacenter, and edge infrastructure categories. Management/automation and security, along with cloud interconnection services, and networking equipment are the areas most consistently prioritized for spending growth/stability.
