Abstract

This IDC study quantifies the U.S. single-function printer market in detail, analyzing issues, trends, and product advances. It contains IDC's review and forecast of the U.S. printer market for 2016–2026. Unit shipments, value of shipments, and average selling value (ASV) information is presented. Data for 2016–2020 is actual, whereas data for 2021–2026 is projected.

"After the supply chain crisis eases, IDC anticipates a surge of shipments to serve pent-up demand in late 2022 and early 2023. After that, the single-function printer market is expected to steadily decline during the forecast period. However, pockets of long-term opportunity will continue to exist, especially in the higher-speed color laser market segment where we expect growth to resume in the post-pandemic period." — Geoffrey Wilbur, research manager, IDC's Imaging, Printing and Document Solutions
