Technology, Policy, and Process Align Work Site and Workforce Strategy
By: Amy Loomis, Ph.D. Research Director, Future of Work, Juliana Beauvais Research Manager, Enterprise Applications
Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight focuses on a spectrum model that aligns workplace flexibility with workforce site strategy. As hybrid work models continue to evolve, organizations must focus on the intersection points of technology, processes, and policy. This spotlight includes data from IDC's August 2020 COVID-19 Impact on IT Spending Survey. It provides results and analysis from a survey of 670 respondents who are decision makers and/or influencers in their organization's digital transformation initiatives. Respondents are from a broad range of industries and company sizes across the globe. A key goal of the survey was to understand how organizations are transforming to support hybrid workforce models.
"Technology advances are enabling a much more dynamic vision for where we work — one that supports work models that are hybrid by design," says Amy Loomis, research director, Future of Work, at IDC. "New processes and policies will be essential in aligning organizational shifts with technology that enables many jobs to be done across a spectrum of locations."
