This IDC Technology Segment study covers Egypt and provides HCP market unit, value ($M), and share (%) data for the 2021–2025 period. It also presents in-depth and up-to-date profiles of the top-performing vendors, covering local presence and structure, 2020 revenue breakdowns by line of business, distribution-channel structure, major contracts and projects won during the year, marketing campaigns and promotions conducted, services and document solutions offered, and channel partner programs.
"Although the overall market contracted in unit terms, the HCP market unexpectedly remained stable in value terms during 2020. Demand for ink-tank devices and midrange laser devices rebounded, spurred by remote working/learning trends and continued uptake in the government sector. The short-term growth outlook is uncertain as production capacity issues are affecting most vendors. Although most commercial activities are returning to normal, HCP shipments are not likely to return to pre-pandemic levels in the short term, chiefly due to the remote working trend which is limiting demand for A3 devices, suppressing printed page volumes, and hampering uptake of managed print services (MPS). The only vendors that will thrive over the coming years will be those that help customers address post-COVID-19 challenges by integrating new technologies such as cloud platforms into document management workflows." — Samar El-Sayed, Research Manager, Imaging, Printing, and Document Solutions, IDC Middle East and Africa
