This IDC Market Presentation examines the desired enterprise resource planning (ERP)/financial system setups of organizations across Europe. It discusses the most common challenges related to application modernization and highlights common cloud migration benefits and pitfalls.
The presentation draws on the results of a January 2023 IDC survey of 670 organizations in 10 European countries. The survey sought insight into whether an ideal future ERP environment would have any of the following:
- Configured software-as-a-service applications managed by an application provider
- Configured/customized software applications hosted on a cloud platform and managed by the organization
