Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight examines the top organizational cybersecurity priorities for EMEA chief information security officers (CISOs) in 2023. It shows that the top priorities (including zero trust, work from home/hybrid work, and identity and access management) exist at the intersection of trust and people risk management.

In the coming months, EMEA CISOs will want to demonstrate that people are at the core of any cybersecurity initiative. Many employees may have joined remotely during the past several years and have a less direct connection to peers than those with longer tenures. They will need different kinds of security guidance and oversight.

CISOs will also want to consider how the concept of zero trust can be embedded across their organizations. Setups and approaches may look very different between organizations, but zero trust offers flexibility with securing users, applications, and infrastructure, while also allowing customization according to specific needs.
