Abstract

This IDC Survey analyzes IDC's primary research on enterprise Internet of Things (IoT) in Canada. IDC Canada surveyed 402 IT decision makers about their organization's IoT deployment plans by industry-specific solution. Those that had already adopted at least one IoT solution were then asked about what they were doing with their IoT systems and what their level of IoT analytic maturity and the nature (edge, streaming, data lake) and location (edge, on premises, cloud) of their IoT data architecture.

This IDC Survey outlines the differences among Canadian industries, the segmentation by enterprise size where relevant and, most importantly, the changes over time — away from on premises and data lakes toward edge and streaming that Canadian enterprises of all sizes and sectors are currently using and planning to use for their IoT deployments. This hints at what investments Canadian enterprises and organizations will make in 2023 for their next IoT solutions.

This data is important for marketing, communications, sales, and partnering executives seeking to better understand the rapidly changing IoT landscape in Canada.
